🌵How did your payroll/finance career begin?
Many years ago! I qualified as an accountant in 2004 and started my payroll journey in 2010.
🌵What skills and qualities do you think are needed to work in the payroll industry?
It’s essential to have an eye for detail and an appreciation of diligent compliance. The rules surrounding payroll are many and varied, so it’s important to have an excellent grasp of them all and stay incredibly close to any changes that occur within payroll and the surrounding legislation.
🌵What has been your biggest achievement in your career so far?
Supporting the creation and growth of Cactus Payroll. I am incredibly proud of the team and the work we’ve completed to date.
🌵What advice would you give to someone starting a career in payroll & finance?
Make sure it’s what you really want to do. We are passionate about everything we do, and that should come across in your work and the service you provide! Our clients place massive trust in us, and we must repay that with our commitment to delivering the very best service from the start.
